I got across the street. “Dressed” is functioning as an adjective here, and the corresponding adjective in the person’s new situation is the description of their new status “across (the street)”. “Crossed” can also be an adjective, but it would only be applicable from the point of view of the street. The street gets crossed a lot. | |
