I have installed Grammarly application recently, and it keeps saying me all the time that I shouldn't use passive voice. In most of the cases, I think using passive voice is better. However, I want to make my English better, so I am open to new knowledge.

Let's take for example this case:

I even can't think of how it's convenient to say the same in the active voice. Maybe:

The problem was because of the old session data that I had.

However, in my opinion, the one with passive voice is better. What do you think? Is it worth efforts to try to write everything in active voice or passive can be useful as well for such situations like mine or many others?

In this instance (and many others) you can ignore the software. connected there is the past participle used adjectivally. It is predicated of "it", synonymous with related. This problem is related to the cached session data. or actually a passive: This problem was caused by the cached session data. – Tᴚoɯɐuo Nov 6 '18 at 12:26
