I am confused about a thing I know the meaning but the fact that I don't know is what is the difference between them. I know where "was" used for but this made me confused a bit so please let me know which one what means.

This book is intended for students.

vs.

This book was intended for students.

  • It would need more context. A new publication "is intended for students". A forgotten book found in an attic "was intended for students" or perhaps a book which originally "was intended for students" became popular amongst academics, or conversely as general reading. – Weather Vane Jun 3 '19 at 21:29
