I'd like to know whether "make + noun + adjective" could mean "construct something in such a way that it becomes +adj" with the pattern of "build + noun + adjective."

  1. John built the garage too big.
  1. John made the house rather blue. (Could this mean he constructed the house so that it became blue?)
  • Make [noun] [adjective] can mean to cause the noun thing to enter the state described by the adjective. I made the cloth wet (by putting it in the bath), he made the room cold (by leaving the door open), you made the dog fat (by giving it too many snacks). John could have made the house blue by painting it. – Michael Harvey Jul 4 '20 at 13:19
