Why cannot we use the word anywhere in positive sentences whereas the words anybody and anything work the similar positive structures.
We can say :
I can do anything I want.
Anybody/ anyone can solve this question.
But we cannot say :
I lost my key. It could be anywhere in the house.( I mean : It could be in the kitchen, in the bedroom or garden)
I dropped my earring in the plane so literally it could be anywhere in the world.(I mean : Since a plane flies to different countries )
This following definition confused me:
used in negative sentences and in questions instead of somewhere
I don't have anywhere to stay.
Do you know anywhere I can buy a second-hand computer?
