The hot chocolate is calling me vs calling my name. Do they mean the same?
@MichaelHarvey That sounds right, although it's quite different from the positive aspect of "calling my name"

Or since it's older than Starbucks, maybe the label on a delivered package.

They're similar, although the source of the metaphor is a little different. "has my name on it" seems like it's derived from a barrista writing the name of the customer on the coffee cup.

The use of subjunctives and conditionals in a sentence
It's confusing because it's hard to tell whether there are four independent alternatives, or two alternatives in each option.

can you make a key to open any door/follow-up question
Syntactically they are ambiguous because "can" can be used for both possibility and requesting.

Is “then” the correct transition word in this sentence?
@PaulTanenbaum To be fair, this is kind of a garden path sentence that's likely to confuse many human readers, too. Notice Daniel Roseman's comment.

"The right-center part of an area" or "The center-right part of an area"?
@AnIELTSLearner Yes. "in" implies that you're describing a section.

how much vs. how much + uncountable noun
"how much" can be used with any uncountable or mass noun. "How much light is there?"

@DanielRoseman It doesn't contradict it, it agrees with it, because it says it's incorrect.

Does this sentence need "it" to make sense?
@MariosAthanasiou Yes, I'm a native English speaker. But I'm not a linguist or language expert, so I don't know many of the technical terms for language constructions. I'm not sure why your answer was downvoted, but so were other answers.
