Doesn't it feel grammatically wrong to use "resist eating apples"...though the meaning is conveyed but since this is a forum for learning...and have you ever heard of the phrase " restrain to resist "....don't you think restrain is implied when we use "resist".Can you give an example of resist when restrain is not implied ...(I feel I am being stupid somehow...)...+1 ( I think there is a need to be verbose when explaining to English language learners and succinct when you are in English language and usage)...is my use of "there" correct?.just confirming,I know there vs their.(My answerwaswrong
