@KRyan Where are you from? Five to nine would be a very common way to speak the time where I live...

I have to disagree with this, as a native European English speaker, I would say "24 to 10" but would usually round , so just "25 to 10"

Do you usually need a comma before "in this case"?
@J.R.actually it is "the point", as in, my viewpoint :) It is always a good idea to help people in multiple ways, not just answer their question and ignore a glaring error. Agree about the dash though, although both are "correct" grammatically.
